EHMP and CWJ Awards 2019

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to making our 2019 awards so special. For the first time EHMP held the awards jointly with the Centre for Women’s Justice.

The awards were chaired by Samira Ahmed. The Emma Humphreys Memorial Prize was given jointly to Afsana Lachaux and Maryam Namazie. The first ever Centre for Women’s Justice Award was given to Lilly Lewis.

Meena Patel won a lifetime achievement EHMP award, and a special award was given to Magdalen Berns. You can find out more about all our nominees and winners in the Nominees section of the website.

The evening opened with a panel discussion chaired by Samira Ahmed with Kiranjit Ahluwalia, Pragna Patel, Sally Challen, and Harriet Wistrich.

There was poetry from Southall Black Sisters Survivors’ Group, and music from The Tuts. Wine was generously donated by Greene King Brewery.

We hope to see many of you again next year.
