Nimco is the co-founder and CEO of Daughters of Eve a charity she started with two other survivors of FGM. Nimco has worked for 5 year to bring FGM to the public attention, she helped get FGM on Newsnight and give young people affected or at risk a chance to stand up and be heard.

Nimco has used her own finances to get the word out about FGM, she has faced death threats and been attacked in the street for the work she is doing.

Nimco has not only bought FGM to the forefront taking it out of the cultural setting it was placed widening the understanding of the issues, but she has now got NSPCC and Child Line to take on the issue providing wider support for young people in the UK affected or at risk of FGM.
